Concerned About Early Greying? Five Things You Should Eat

It is normal for hair to get lighter. The unhealthy lifestyle of today, however, causes hair to start going white at a relatively early age. Therefore, if you are concerned about the same issue, we want to reassure you that it can be resolved with some simple household items. Dr. Rishi Parashar, Senior Consultant, Department of Dermatologists, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi, has said that the hair becomes white sooner if the melanin pigment, which is typically present in the hair follicles, is not eliminated. Genes, pollution, malnutrition, stress, smoking, alcohol use, an unhealthy lifestyle, etc. are also to blame for the rapid onset of gray hair. In addition to this, a lack of iron, vitamin B-12, or vitamin D3 may also make hair fast turn white. So let’s look at the five components to prevent hair aging today.

1. Nigella seed or black seed: According to nutritionist Dr. Sonali Sabharwal, black seeds should be consumed on a regular basis to prevent premature hair aging. Sesame, black beans, kalonji, chia seeds, black jaggery, and other foods are advised.

2. Amla: According to Dr. Sonali, Amla is nutrient-rich and is said to be highly beneficial for nourishing the hair. It has nutrients like vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, selenium, and others that nourish the hair and help prevent graying.

3. Foods containing catalase: Sweet potatoes, carrots, garlic, broccoli, etc. are the main sources of this vitamin. By ingesting these items, the hair won’t get gray before it’s time. Even one of these may help stop hair loss if consumed often.

4. Wheat grass: Consuming wheat grass or barley grass juice is sometimes thought to be quite useful for providing full nutrients to the hair. The liver may be detoxified by this plant as well. All the nutrients required to feed the hair are abundant in wheatgrass.

5. Steer clear of sugar and junk food: If you want your hair to always be black and thick, you must give up sugar and junk food. Our health and our hair are both adversely impacted by excessive dairy consumption, refined flour, packaged and processed foods, harmful fats, and deep-fried foods.
