Dos and Don’ts During the Holy Month of Ramadan in 2024

Muslims all throughout the globe celebrate Ramadan, which is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar. This is the period of the year when Muslims keep fasts for 29 to 30 days, culminating in the festive celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr with much fanfare and revelry. For Muslims, Ramadan is a time of great importance since it is said to commemorate the first time that God revealed the Holy Quran to the Prophet Muhammad.

It is believed that this holy month offers a chance for spiritual development, self-improvement, and strengthening one’s bond with Allah. Through shared experiences, get-togethers for meals and prayers, and an increase in deeds of compassion and charity, Ramadan promotes a feeling of community.

The holy month of Ramadan in 2024 will start on March 12 and finish on April 11, 2024, on Eid-ul-Fitr, after a four-week period.

Muslims adhere to stringent rules and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad throughout these days, in addition to fasting. Here are some things to consider before the fasting month begins.

Things To Do in 2024 During Ramadan

At least five times a day, pray. If you want more blessings, pray more.

Give the needy and impoverished as much Zakat (charity) as you can, both during the holy month of Ramadan and all year long.

Iftar is served after sundown to break the fast, which you begin with Sehri before daybreak.

Recite the Quran, commit its passages to memory, and assess the content they have read.

Muslims are urged to pray to Allah and show appreciation in a ritual known as “dhikr.”

When keeping a fast, exercise patience and civility.

When Muslims pray, they should think about their family.

During this holy time, Muslims are urged to remain celibate and pray in order to deepen their relationship with Allah.

Avoid These During Ramadan 2024
Muslims are not permitted to eat or drink anything before the Maghrib Azan after sundown during the month of Ramadan while they are fasting.

The fast is nullified by drinking alcohol, smoking, or forcing oneself to vomit.

Since Ramadan is all about improving oneself, steer clear of arguments, fights, and negativity in favor of promoting harmony and constructive relationships.

It is not appropriate to listen to music during Ramadan if you are fasting. Give prayer and remember Allah more of your time.

Your fast may be ruined, so keep your mind on the positive things in life and push aside any resentment or animosity.

If you are nursing a baby, pregnant, or going through a menstrual cycle, avoid maintaining fasts.

Don’t wait to break your fast or skip prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

Don’t speak negatively when fasting.
