During the winter, indulge in thick, creamy hot chocolate at these Mumbai cafés in Dadar

The arrival of cool winds heralds the beginning of Mumbai’s lovely winter. It goes without saying that Mumbai residents have already started to indulge in a wide range of food and hot drinks, like kadak adrak waali chai. But for one writer, winter in Bombay means scarfing down cups of comforting hot chocolate.

A day with mild, breezy conditions is ideal for indulging in some decadent chocolate. This writer, who has lived in Dadar all his life, decides to go on a hot chocolate binge, bouncing from café to café and sampling some of the greatest hot chocolates in the area, in order to enjoy the bitter winter while it lasts.

Dadar is currently home to a large number of upscale cafés. Dadar is noted for offering traditional Maharashtrian food, such as the misal pav of Aswaad restaurant, masale bhaat of Prakash Hotel, kothimbir vadi of Gypsy Corner, and Ashok’s vada pav. The café culture, which was formerly unusual among Dadarkars, has grown in popularity and is now the young people’s first option. Among them is the author.

Drinking these hot chocolates from Dadar’s cafés will be a terrific option if you are a lover of the cold and want to take full advantage of it.

Chocolate Paradise

Everything chocolate that is provided at this café is fully justified by the name. The café, which is close to Shivaji Park, is a great spot for friends and couples to hang out. This shop is a must-visit if you’re looking for a unique selection of hot chocolates. Six distinct types of hot chocolate are offered, along with whipped cream and optional marshmallows.

The writer ordered herself a brownie hot chocolate and couldn’t get enough of it. Just one taste of the thick, creamy hot chocolate with crumbled brownie bits quickly lifted her spirits. This is her favorite chocolate drink in Dadar since it’s just the right amount of sweetness and comes in a respectable amount of servings.

House Chef

Every Dadarkar’s favorite café, Home Chef, is like a second home to them; its unique interior design draws in passersby who want to check it out. Here, the author gets a side KitKat bar and a Cadbury hot chocolate with marshmallows for herself. This is a warning—it’s only for you if you adore Cadbury and have a sweet tooth.

This may not be the best choice for you if you want your beverages to be less sweet, but it is still worth a try. Personally, I savored every taste of the delicious beverage.

Café Nude Food

Nude Food Café is an organic, waste-free, and health-conscious restaurant that’s ideal for small gatherings and dates. The café is a laid-back area full with good energy. It should be noted that the writer received her order of hazelnut hot chocolate in an earthenware cup that was a perfect match for the ideals the café espouses.

Similar to the understated décor of the café, the hot chocolate’s flavor was as subdued. Chocolate and a wonderfully balanced hazelnut flavor went together like clockwork. This one differs from the others in that it is not too sweet, making it a fantastic choice for anyone who want to limit their intake of sugar. Please dress accordingly, since the café provides three varieties of hot chocolate.

The author got a Nutella hot chocolate for herself at this point. If you don’t like sugar and sweets, you may visit this other café for hot chocolate. This was a very basic hot chocolate, with a lot of milk and a good Nutella flavor. It’s ideal for a fast hot beverage on the go. Even though it took a while for the drink to be served, the author heartily recommends this for anybody searching for a straightforward hot chocolate choice. Three types are available in the café.
