Says Meera: “Actresses on television usually wear red lehengas, but I got to wear a panetar, which is what Gujarati brides wear. It seemed particularly wonderful, since I’m Gujarati. I wore this masterpiece for twenty to twenty-five days to film this epic scene, but the 35 kg of jewelry and the lehenga were too much! Even though it was difficult to walk in at times—I was often unable to move at all—it was nonetheless an amazing experience. I now have the feeling that when the time comes, I will just wear a simple dress and tie the knot.
