Notes from school: KB DAV, Chandigarh, Sector 7-B

Secondary wing students observed Earth Day by participating in a variety of entertaining and instructive events. Students in class 8 took part in the poetry recitation competition “Together we Rhyme,” which had the topic “Environment.” Nineth graders created imaginative posters with the subject “Act, Innovate, and Implement.” Class 10 students’ “TEDx Talk,” “Our Earth is Our Only Home,” inspired change.

P’kula’s Hansraj Public School

During the sixth season of The Crucible -24, an annual literary festival at the school, a book market, a theatrical workshop, a storytelling session, and a creative writing workshop were planned to let young Hansarians experience the literary flavor and become closer to literature. Renowned storyteller Shikha Sood held the attention of the enthralled elementary school pupils throughout an engaging session.

Public School, PML SD, CD

The school’s students took part in a wide range of reading activities. Activities, including tale reading and book discussion questions, were done with students in grades 8 through 10.

Mohali’s Doon International

Earth Day was observed with a special gathering. The children created bird homes out of recyclable materials and donned Earth Day badges for the event, which was organized by the school’s science department and eco club. After poetry readings, dance performances, and environmental lectures, a seedling was planted.

Chandigarh’s AKSIPS-41

For children in all classrooms, the school’s Planet Pals-Eco Club arranged an exciting program of events and contests, such as poetry recital, a declamation contest, a plant variety exhibition, and best out of trash. For the kids, it was an overall educational and fulfilling experience.

Little Jesus in Mohali

The school hosted a “Tinkering Workshop” in observance of ATL Community Day in 2024. Students from surrounding non-ATL schools enthusiastically and keenly attended the workshop. The festivities began with ATL in-charge Rakhi M. Vidhate giving a brief introduction to the ATL lab and discussing the significance of ATL Community Day. The tinkering session was led by IJCS ATL student mentors. Students were inspired to strive toward improving society and maintain an inventive mindset by Principal Vanitha Veena.

P’kula’s Valley Public School

Students from grades 2, 4, and 7 enthusiastically engaged in the school’s 2023 International Cyber Olympiad. Pushp Bansal took home the gold medal for placing first in the Olympiad and the Garima bronze for placing third.

Niketan Shishu, MDC-5, and P’kula

On English Language Day, the school’s pupils celebrated. The junior wing included storytelling sessions and word games. Senior wing students took part in creative writing and quizzes.

Mount Carmel, Colorado

The school held an awareness workshop in addition to a thorough fire safety simulation. Officials from the Chandigarh Fire Department attended the event and gave instructors and kids crucial advice on how to follow safety precautions in the case of a fire.
