‘Pinch-me moment’: Anoushka Shankar to get honorary degree from Oxford University

Anoushka Shankar, a producer, film composer, and nine-time Grammy nominee for guitarist, will receive an honorary degree from the University of Oxford. She called it a “pinch-me” moment in her career.

The esteemed award is being given “in recognition of her outstanding achievements within the music industry” and highlights the significant impact she has had on the world of music.

“I never even dreamed I might receive an honor like this, let alone from one of the most prestigious universities in the world,” Anoushka said, describing the occasion as a “pinch-me” moment in her career. I am really appreciative of Oxford University. In addition, I’m appreciative of all the previous instructors who helped me get here and feel thoughtful. I had the good fortune to get from my father the most priceless music instruction.
