Poshan se Padhai Tak: Using the Storytelling Power to Empower Children

Under the inspiring direction of Smt. Smriti Irani, India’s Minister of Women & Child Development, and Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s flagship initiative, Poshan Se Padhai Tak, the country’s commitment to fostering the health and well-being of its children has taken a delightful turn. With a particular emphasis on using the power of narrative, the launch, which took place on February 29, 2024, in collaboration with Network18 Group, marked a critical turning point in India’s progress towards guaranteeing nourishment for every kid.

With the launch of the Poshan Abhiyaan by our Honorable Prime Minister in 2018, India began a revolutionary path to guarantee the health and well-being of its population, especially its children. With the goal of creating a healthier and wealthier India, this innovative initiative, headed by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, has achieved great progress against wasting, stunting, and malnutrition.

Poshan se Padhai Tak marked the beginning of a new phase in the evolution of Poshan Abhiyaan into Poshan 2.0. The “Poshan Se Padhai Tak Naye Bharat Ki Unnati” campaign, which reached out to millions of schools across India to help create a better future for India, symbolized India’s dedication to comprehensive child health and nutrition.

India has made great strides in eliminating malnutrition and promoting a healthy population. The Poshan se Padhai Tak launch included a special chat with Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, who discussed the government’s programs and holistic approaches to child health and nutrition.

The platform showcased the revolutionary change that Saksham Anganwadis has undergone in the last six years. It also showed how the government, UNICEF, and other stakeholders have worked together to improve early childhood care and education. The significance of nutrition in children’s lives was further highlighted by discussions on the fight against obesity and the promotion of good eating habits.

Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, India’s Minister of Women & Child Development, expressed her steadfast support for the project by saying, “As we work on Poshan se Padhai Tak, let us remember that investing in our children’s health is an investment in our nation’s future.” By empowering women, promoting education, and uniting in our dedication to fostering the potential of every child, we build the path for a healthier, happier India.

Together, let’s set out on this life-changing adventure to make sure that no kid is left behind in their pursuit of a healthy and successful future. Additionally, she expressed her gratitude to the Bill Gates Foundation for providing India with the Poshan tracker during the epidemic.

Along with expressing his thoughts and viewpoints, Mr. Bill Gates, Co-Chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, also launched the Poshan Utsav Book and provided information, education, and communication (IEC) tools that enhanced the proceedings.

Mr. Bill Gates enthusiastically praised India’s Poshan effort, which combines regional traditions to improve nutrition in a variety of populations. He applauded the minister’s efforts to improve nutrition, increase access to childcare, and give women more economic power.

Speaking positively about the future of nutrition, Mr. Gates said that India was leading the way in technologies such as supplements and immunizations. He expressed his gratitude to medical professionals once again and emphasized how these developments have benefited Indian mothers and children.

“As proud media partners of Poshan se Padhai Tak, we at Network18 are committed to leveraging our platform to spread awareness about the importance of nutrition and its profound impact on the lives of millions of children across the country,” said Mr. Rahul Joshi, MD & Editor, Network18 Media & Investments Limited, expressing his joy at being the program’s esteemed media partner. By working together, we want to strengthen communities, promote good change, and guarantee that every kid receives the nutrition they need to grow. Let’s light the way together so that everyone may have a better, more promising future.
