Practical Marks Upload Guidelines Are Released by CBSE for Schools

New Delhi: To assist schools in uploading accurate practical test results onto its website, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released instructions. According to a formal statement from the board, one of the primary duties of schools is to make sure that student results are accurately published on the board’s homepage. It was emphasized that pupils should not face any problems in the future. The practical examinations for CBSE Class 10 and 12 were held from January 1 to February 15, 2024.

It has been noted that educational institutions sometimes overlook this duty and commit errors as a result. The board has been urging schools periodically to take precautions to prevent mistakes while posting the marks of practical, project, and internal evaluations on the platform,” the announcement said.

“The school administrator, the internal examiner, and the external examiner (if applicable) must make sure that the right marks are posted throughout the uploading process since once the marks are uploaded, they cannot be changed. According to the criteria published by the CBSE, examiners and schools alike must also have in mind the maximum marks that are awarded for internal assessments of practical projects in the subject.”

The following are some precautions that the principals must take in order to conduct practicals:
Before beginning work, internal and external examiners must read and follow the board’s circulars and directions.
They have to confirm the specifics of the grades and the division of grades from the curriculum.
Following that, practicals have to be completed, and grades ought to be given according to the points assigned to various tasks in the project, internal evaluation, and practical.
The principal shall confirm with the internal and external examiners that the marks have been given accurately against the maximum marks allocated for the subject before submitting the marks on the board site.
After that, accurate marks must be uploaded to the server, and before the marks are finally submitted via the portal, a printout must be taken and compared a second time.
The principal for records, as well as the internal and external examiners, must sign the award list.
The board also brought up a recent case in which the Delhi High Court denied the petitioner’s request to have the incorrect marks uploaded to the system corrected.
After they are posted, the marks are final and cannot be changed after the results are announced.
Class 10 board examinations will take place from February 15 to March 13, 2024, and Class 12 board exams from February 15 to April 2, 2024.
