Himachal: In the Class 12 test, girls outperform males

In the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education’s (HPBSE) Class XII test, which was held today, girls placed first in the arts, science, and commerce streams.

Private school students dominated the top ranks in the arts and science streams, while government school students led the pack in the business stream.

The pass percentage as a whole was 73.76.

Thirty girls and eleven boys were among the forty pupils who made the top ten merit list, according to Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar. He said that 31 pupils from private schools and 10 students from government schools were among the top 10.

Arshita, a student at DAV Senior Secondary School in Una, received the highest score of 490 out of 500 in the arts stream. Shalini from Government Senior Secondary School, Nadaun, in Hamirpur district took third place with 486 points, followed by Shivangi Sharma from Himalayan Public Senior Secondary School, Paprola, in the Baijnath region of Kangra district, who scored 487 marks for second place.

Kamakshi Sharma from Bharti Vidyapeeth Public Senior Secondary School in the Baijnath region and Chhaya Chauhan from Snowar Valley Public School, Bajaura, in the Kullu district shared first place in the science stream with a combined score of 494/500. In the science stream, Shruti Sharma from SD Public School in Hamirpur secured the second place. Her grade was 492/500. Angel from Minerva Senior Secondary School in Ghumarwin, Bilaspur district, and Piyush Kumar from Him Academy Public School in Hiranagar, Hamirpur district, shared third place with a combined score of 491/500.

Shavya from Government Senior Secondary School, Jassur, in the Kangra district, won the test in the commerce stream with a score of 490/500. Gurpreet Kaur, a student at Government SM Model Senior Secondary School, Indora, in the Kangra district, placed second with a score of 488 out of 500.

Divyansh Aggarwal of Adharsh Vidya Niketan Senior Secondary School, Nahan, in the Sirmaur district, and Isha Thakur DAV Senior Secondary School, Una, shared third place with a combined score of 487/500.

In comparison to previous year, the results were announced about a month sooner, according to Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar. He continued by saying that the board’s workers should be commended for producing the results in a record amount of time despite a staffing shortfall.

According to Kanwar, the Board evaluated the answer sheets in a record-breaking 25 days.

According to the Education Secretary, the Board will start distributing credentials to students via DigiLocker this year so they won’t have any problems getting into the following session.
