Professional Women Should Choose To Freeze Their Eggs: Upasana Konidela, the Wife of Ram Charan

The vice chairman of CSR Apollo Hospitals Group and MD of URLife, Upasana Kamineni Konidela, brought attention to the fact that many aspirational Indian women prioritize their jobs above their biological clocks. They encounter difficulties when they finally make the decision to have children.

Actor Ram Charan’s wife, Upasana, said that she decided to freeze her eggs at an early stage of their union. She also hoped that employers would allow female workers to use insurance money to store eggs.

“Indian corporations must change to better assist women. In this sense, POSH committees have proved helpful. In order to implement flexible maternity leave policies, I’m working with businesses. She said, “I also support giving women the choice to preserve their eggs through insurance.”

Ram Charan acknowledged his respect for his wife’s unwavering support during the same interview. During a 2023 interview with Mid-Day, Upasana said that she had chosen to put off having children until she achieved financial security. In order to preserve her chances of becoming a mother in the future, she decided to freeze her eggs. “Having children when financially prepared helps women as well as the advancement of the country. I’m happy to report that Ram and I made the decision to conceive a family when we were financially stable. I also saved my eggs,” she said.

In 2023, the couple gladly welcomed Klin Kaara Konidela, a baby girl, as their first child. They were also recently seen celebrating Anant Ambani’s engagement to Radhika Merchant, the heir to Reliance Industries, before their wedding.
