77th Independence Day: PM Modi remembers those who died during the Partition

In honor of split Horrors Remembrance Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the “Indians who sacrificed their lives during the country’s partition.” One day before the 77th Independence Day, he thought about “the suffering and struggle of those who had to bear the brunt of displacement”.

The speaker said, “I salute all such people.” The prime minister established August 14 as “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” in August 2021 to commemorate the “struggles and sacrifices” made by the millions of people who were forcibly removed from their homes and perished during the Partition.

In the meanwhile, the Delhi Police have tightened security measures in the nation’s capital in front of the Independence Day festivities. On August 15, over 700 police officers would be stationed outside Red Fort and other locations in North Delhi. Additionally, more than 10,000 people will be working to maintain law and order and control traffic throughout the city.

The police have improved their preparations to meet the norms of the pre-pandemic period as they anticipate around 30,000 spectators for the Independence Day parade. Over 1,000 cameras, a thorough four-layer security system, anti-drone systems, face recognition systems, bomb disposal teams, and paramilitary troops are just a few examples of the many security measures that are used.

On the eve of the 77th Independence Day, President Droupadi Murmu will make a speech to the country, according to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Starting at 7 o’clock, the speech would be carried over the whole national network of Akashvani and shown on every Doordarshan channel.
