9 people are detained and 22 kg of opium is found as a global drug trafficking network is exposed in Jalandhar

An international drug smuggling organization was discovered in Jalandhar, resulting in the arrest of nine persons and the seizure of 22kg of opium.

During the operation, a Jharkhand-based opium farmer and collector who was transporting 12 kg of opium was apprehended.

Five international companies with headquarters in the US, Canada, Australia, and the UK were part of the cartel.

It has been reported that six customs officers in Delhi have assisted in the illicit trade.

Thirty bank accounts connected to the operation have been blocked in all.

Additionally, 12 homes valued at Rs 6 crore have been discovered by officials as having been purchased with money obtained from drug trafficking.
