A couple marries in front of Hallikar bulls in Arekal, Karnataka, and asks for their blessings

Reknowned for his triumphant time on Bigg Boss Kannada 10, Varthur Santhosh is the chairman of the All India Hallikar Breed Conservation Committee and Hallikar Cattle Breeds. The Hallikar Belt in South Karnataka, which includes cities like Mysore, Mandya, Hassan, and Tumkur, is home to the Hallikar breed of cattle. Vanthur Santhosh’s growing notoriety contributed to the Hallikar Bulls’ rise in popularity.

Thus, in front of Hallikar Bulls, a rural couple in Anekal town, Urban Bengaluru District, was married and accepted their blessings for a good married life. In the hallehalli hamlet of Anekal town, Laxman and Priyanka of Thattanahalli village tied the knot. The venue of the wedding was Muneshwar Temple.

The pair was seen finishing the marital rites at the lavish wedding celebration held at the temple, with Hallikar Bulls positioned a few feet away from the platform. The couple knelt and received blessings from Hallikur Bulls as the wedding ceremony came to an end. It was observed that the bulls also wore jewels. Over five pairs of Hallikar bulls were seen standing outside the temple. Hallikar bullocks were used in the march with the newlyweds.

In Karnataka, Hallikar cattle have a rich cultural and historical heritage. It represents the area’s traditional way of life and agricultural history. They often appear in regional celebrations, farming customs, and religious rites, indicating their influence on rural community life and weddings. These bulls are either gray or white in color. The black ones are really uncommon.

Additionally, well-known for their stamina and power, Hallikar bulls are perfect for agricultural jobs like hauling carts and plowing fields. Their ability to support farmers may also be a factor in their participation in community celebrations and the influence they have on people’s cultures. The breed’s cows are mostly used for labor rather than dairying, and they do not provide large amounts of milk.
