A group from Congo receives insights from Haryana Agricultural University

Today, a group headed by Wabenga Kalebo Theo, the ambassador of the Republic of Congo, paid Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (HAU) a visit to learn about the latest developments in agricultural research, cutting-edge farming methods, and other agricultural advancements.

Attending the conference were a few farmers and academic representatives. The delegation’s members, according to Vice-Chancellor Prof. BR Kamboj, received comprehensive information on the university’s research projects, particularly those related to seed improvement. The topic of giving the delegation further assistance in growing basmati rice and maize was discussed.

According to him, in-depth talks were conducted to strengthen collaboration between the state’s progressive farmers and the Republic of Congo in order to pinpoint resources for rice production and streamline the transfer of knowledge.

According to Prof. Kamboj, using the newest agricultural technology may hasten Congo’s economic progress. In addition to decreasing food waste, adding value to agricultural produce, improving storage arrangements, and investing in post-harvest processing facilities, KU spokespersons noted that special emphasis was placed on seed production, agricultural self-reliance, maize production, and the growing demand for organic products worldwide.

According to Ambassador Theo, the meeting between the delegations will provide momentum to a number of ambitious projects aimed at enhancing global collaboration among scientists, students, and farmers. The Republic of Congo’s economy will be greatly enhanced by the university’s cutting-edge inventions and technology.
