Court: Report molestation in full

New Delhi: A court today ordered a Delhi police officer to look into an allegation of molestation, noting that the police have to file a formal complaint (FIR) whenever they learn of the occurrence of a cognizable offense. A plea filed against six individuals under Section 156(3) of the CrPC was being heard by Metropolitan Magistrate Jyoti Nain. The plaintiff and her family were assaulted on May 13, 2022, by six individuals, the court stated. The plea claims that one of the accused ripped the plaintiff’s clothing and pushed himself against her; nevertheless, the complainant was spared when the neighbors stepped in. The court noted the plea and said that the police did not act upon the complaint, despite it having been filed.
