A Kerala guy eludes police custody and is apprehended shortly after

After a medical examination in the wee hours of Thursday, a guy who was being held on suspicion of assault gave the finger to the police at Ernakulam General Hospital. However, a few hours later, officers were able to apprehend Vishal, also known as Anankunju, a resident of Elamkulam’s Corporation Colony, from the area around his home.

The 21-year-old was notorious for stirring up problems while intoxicated, according to the police. Vishal caused a disturbance in front of a restaurant close to the Ernakulam Junction train station on Tuesday night. He went for someone who was eating, stabbing him in the face with a sharp weapon. He was arrested by Ernakulam Central police for intentionally hurting people with a deadly weapon. On Wednesday, Vishal was brought into prison.

As part of the arrest process, he was brought to Ernakulam General Hospital for a medical checkup. There had been two civil officials with him. Following the process, he pushed off an officer and fled while being taken back into the police car. Vishal outran the two police officers despite their best efforts to pursue him, an officer claimed.

Police began looking for Vishal and filed a separate case for his escape from legal custody. The city’s police stations were all notified. Police watched his acquaintances and family and looked through CCTV footage. We later learned that he was apprehended in the morning after being seen close to his residence. Later on, an officer said, “He was remanded in judicial custody.”

A similar event occurred last week when a thief in custody escaped from Aluva police. After being brought to Ernakulam Medical College Hospital in Kalamassery, he informed police that he had eaten poison and had escaped. He was taken into custody from Kottayam two days later.
