A murder suspect from Amritsar Central Jail threatens the brother of the victim

The relatives of the victim were contacted by a murder suspect detained in Amritsar Central Jail, who threatened to withhold testimony against him and his accomplice in court.

When the victim’s brother filed a complaint with the Kathunangal police, the event became public knowledge. Under Sections 195-A (threatening any person to provide false evidence) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC, the police filed a new First Information Report (FIR) against the accused, Manjinder Singh, also known as Gagana, also known as the doctor.

The complainant, Manjit Singh, claimed that on March 9, two unidentified armed attackers fired at his brother, Kanwaljit Singh, an ex-serviceman and inhabitant of Ramdiwali Hindua village, seriously injuring him. On March 15, he passed away in a private hospital.

The police detained Manjinder and Meharpreet Singh, also known as Tidda or Rajat, from the Hindu hamlet of Ramdiwali while conducting investigations.

Manjit said that on April 9, he received a call from Manjinder, who threatened to stop him from testifying in court.

According to him, Manjinder forewarned them that they would suffer the same fate as Kanwaljit.

The investigating officer, ASI Ajit Singh, said that the accused will be placed under production warrant in order to look into the situation.
