A non-bailable warrant against Maulana Tauqeer Raza is issued by the Bareilly court

Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan, the head of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council (IMC), was the subject of a non-bailable warrant issued by a local court on Monday for disobeying court orders.

Tauqeer Raza Khan was the subject of an arrest warrant issued by ADJ (Fast Track) Ravi Kumar Diwakar, who also directed CO City (I) to serve the warrant, make the arrest, and bring Tauqeer Raza Khan before the court by March 13.

The Maulana was first called before the court on Monday, when it was claimed that he was the instigator of the 2010 Bareilly riots. But after several efforts, the authorities have not been able to locate him so far.

The police reported to the court that Maulana Tauqeer Raza’s home had been locked for many days. Not only could his family members not be located, but his cell phone was either unplugged or not receiving any calls.

Neighbors claim that the Maulana has lived in Delhi for a considerable amount of time.

Violence broke out in 2010 between two groups in Bareilly during the Juloos-e-Mohammadi procession. About twenty stalls in the vegetable market at the Qutubkhana Bazar crossroads had been set on fire by rioters. All of the city’s universities and institutions were ordered to shut, and the troublesome regions were under helicopter monitoring.

Following the events, there was a threat to community cohesion across the division, and curfew was to be enforced for a few days. The court believed that Maulana Tauqeer Raza, the president of the IMC, was the primary instigator of the disturbances.
