A postman in Chamba was fired for stealing Rs 32 lakh

A postman in Chamba district was fired by the Department of Posts after he was suspected of embezzling Rs 32 lakh in customer payments.

After the embezzlement was discovered at the Masroond post office branch last month, the postman was placed on leave while an internal investigation was conducted.

The claims state that the postman has been keeping clients’ money rather than putting it into their accounts for a long time.

When the clients saw differences in their account balance, they were aware of the irregularity.

When the consumers approached him, he did not provide them a suitable response, so they complained to the Postal superintendent.

The Department launched a full investigation into the situation, looking into every transaction and account that fell within the jurisdiction of the Masroond branch.

Evidence of the postman’s misconduct came to light throughout the inquiry, which resulted in his suspension and eventual termination.

Later, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was given the case to look into it further.

The Department of Posts has taken action to compensate the impacted consumers for their losses in the meantime.

Superintendent of the Department of Posts Sanjay Kumar verified that the postman implicated in the misappropriation was fired. According to him, a comprehensive investigation is being carried out by the Central Bureau of Investigation to establish responsibility and stop fraud in the department in the future.

According to him, the department’s prompt and decisive action demonstrated its dedication to maintaining accountability and integrity in its operations.
