A sophisticated technique for managing traffic on the Manali National Highway

The Mandi police yesterday turned on the Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) at Nagchala and Dadaur on the Kiratpur-Manali four-lane in the Mandi district in order to guarantee efficient traffic flow and avoid accidents.

ITMS would allow “people without helmets, triple riding, overspeeding, etc. to be monitored 24X7 and challaned,” according to Mandi ASP Sagar Chander. The maximum speed restriction for light motor vehicles is 60 km/h, while the maximum speed limit for heavy trucks is 40 km/h, according to the announced regulations. An SMS containing details about the challenge raised via ITMS will be sent to the defaulter.
