A worker shoves a coworker into the lift duct after more than 1,000 rows

Pune: After a fight between them over Rs1,000, a construction worker was shoved into the elevator duct at a site in Moshi on Sunday afternoon, where he passed away.

Satyanarayan Karsh, 32, was the victim who fell through the lift duct over forty feet. The 32-year-old suspect, Surendrakumar Karsh, ran away from the scene of the construction site incident.
Later, he was taken into custody at Chakan on a murder charge by a police squad under the command of assistant inspector Kiran Pathare.

The victim, Satyanarayan, and his brother, Gajanand Karsh (39), were reportedly working at the Shivajiwadi site in Moshi on Sunday, according to the assistant inspector. According to the authorities, Surendrakumar, Gajanand, and Satyanarayan were all from Chhattisgarh’s Bilaigarh. For now, they are living close to the site at the construction workers’ community.

“Satyanarayan had taken out a Rs. 1,000 loan from Surendrakumar, the suspect. Assistant police inspector Pathare said, “The latter informed us that Satyanarayan did not return him the money despite repeated follow-ups.”
He said that on Sunday, Satyanarayan and the other laborers were plastering the area next to the lift duct on the ground level of the building. There appeared Surendrakumar, who had been on leave for two days.
He asked Satyanarayan to return his money. The suspect mistreated the latter when he refused to give him the money.

After a fight broke out between the two, Surendrakumar shoved Satyanarayan into the elevator duct. Pathare, the assistant police inspector, said that Satyanarayan was transferred to a hospital and later declared dead.
As the other laborers hurried to assist Satyanarayan, Surendrakumar left the building site. He left the colony with his wife and traveled to Chakan.
Surendrakumar ran away from his wife, leaving her at the home of one of his acquaintances. “He was concealed in a farm,” said Pathare.
He said, “We caught the suspect, Surendrakumar, before he could flee to Chattisgarh.”
