After four years, the RoB project still has problems and Hisar inhabitants are not happy

Residents of Hisar have been inconvenienced by the Surya Nagar railway over-bridge (RoB), which is now under construction. About four years ago, the project’s development got underway. Three deadlines have already passed for the project, and if further work is not done by June 4, there is still one more date that might expire.

The twin railway lines of the parallel Hisar-Jakhal and Hisar-Bhiwani rail portions are where the RoB is being built.

Even though the construction is expected to be finished by the deadline of June 4th, the key task of installing girders on the railway part is still outstanding. Dalbir Singh, the Sub-Divisional Officer of the state Public Health Department (PWD), said that they were prepared to carry out the girder-related work. “We have sent a letter to the railway authority requesting that they stop the track and modify train schedules so that this repair may be completed. The procedure of installing the girders takes around twenty-five hours to finish, he added.

On the project, the Railways and the PWD are collaborating together. According to the SDO, the PWD had finished almost 95% of the work that the state government had given them. 78% of the section needed to be finished by the Railways was finished.

The previous four years have been very inconvenient, according to Surya Nagar residents. Surya Nagar resident Suresh Jagra said, “We expected it to be complete within one year but it has taken much longer and the work is still incomplete.”

According to Jangra, the problem has been causing issues for at least 50,000 individuals residing in the surrounding areas, such as Mahavir Colony, Sectors 1-4, Mill Gate, and Surya Nagar, for the last four years. The people had been waiting a long time for the RoB.

According to the authorities, the project would cost around Rs 69 crore to complete, with construction scheduled to begin in February 2019. Nevertheless, the Covid shutdown caused the process to get stalled. “In order to begin the process of installing girders, we have been awaiting approval from the railway authorities to modify the train schedules.
