After the Nuh Riots, VHP will resume its Jalabhishek Yatra from August 28 to August 31 and asks the Haryana government to provide security

Less than ten days after attacks on its Jalabhishek Yatra in Haryana’s Nuh district, which were followed by widespread rioting, the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday said that the march will continue on August 28. According to a VHP statement, the yatra will culminate on August 31, which is also the last day of the Hindu month of Shravan.

On July 31, the yatra was assaulted, setting off rioting that resulted in 88 injuries and six fatalities.

A mahapanchayat will be convened in Manesar to arrange the march, according to a statement made by the VHP in its official communication.

According to VHP officials, the interruption of the yatra damaged the people’s feelings, therefore mahapanchayats were set up throughout Haryana to hear from them and make a decision about the yatra.

They continued by saying that they had requested the state government make safety and security provisions in order for the yatra to be concluded as soon as possible.
