Amit Shah, the Home Minister, submits a nomination for the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, filed his nomination papers on Friday to run as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Lok Sabha constituency of Gandhinagar.

When Shah filed his candidacy papers with the Gandhinagar collector and district election officer in the state capital precisely at 12:39 p.m., on what is known as Vijay Muhurat, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was beside him.

In the 2019 general elections, the previous president of the Bharatiya Janata Party became victorious from the Gandhinagar seat, garnering over 5 lakh votes. On May 7, the third round of voting for all 26 Lok Sabha seats in Gujarat will take place.
