An avalanche killed three laborers from Jharkhand

Near the Ramesh Hydro Project, Kafnu, in Nichar tehsil in Kinnaur district, three laborers were struck by an avalanche that resulted in their deaths and two injuries. At approximately 12:30 pm today, the laborers were working when they were trapped in the avalanche.

Siman Kindo, 42, of Urmi, Jharkhand; Virma Urao, 45, of Kuchatole, Jharkhand; and Ratan Lal, 32, of Kuchatole, Jharkhand, have been identified as the dead. Chandranath (43), a native of Lawange, Jharkhand, and Krishan Magar (38), a citizen of Nepal, are the two wounded parties.

The District Disaster Management Authority official said that the deceased and wounded individuals were sent to the PHC located in Katgaon. The official said, “One injured person was referred to the CHC, Bhabnagar, as his condition is critical.”

In the meantime, the Weather Department reports that a new western disturbance is predicted to strike the Himalayan area tomorrow and that the state will see rain and snow on March 13 and 14. For these two days, the weather service has issued a yellow advisory.
