An Odisha student commits himself when the school authorities “seize” his cell phone

After his cell phone was “seized” by the school administration on Friday, a class 10 boy in Odisha’s Khurda district is believed to have committed himself on school grounds, according to police. The dead, Publias Karji, is a district native of Gajapati. PTI reported.

According to a police official, the 16-year-old who resided at the school dormitory was discovered hanging from a tree on Friday morning. He is said to have gone to great lengths when the school administration confiscated his cell phone.

“We have notified his family members and recovered the body.” The unnatural death is being looked investigated, according to SDPO (Khurda Sadar) Dilip Das.

In a another instance, a class 11 girl is said to have committed suicide after her teacher made fun of her for smoking gutka (tobacco) in front of her father. The event took place in Jhansi, in the Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Anjali Sahu, the 17-year-old girl, committed suicide by hanging herself a few hours after her father was informed that his daughter was hooked to gutka by her instructor when he was summoned to the school.

According to the kid’s father, Amit Sahu, the school administration had threatened to keep the daughter from attending lessons unless she broke her tobacco-using habit.

Not long after the father and daughter pair came home from school, she locked herself in her room. After breaking into her room an hour later, the family discovered that her door was locked from the inside. When they opened it, they saw that she was hanging from a ceiling fan hook.
