Six smartphones found during a Central Jail search operation

Today, the Ludhiana Central Jail was the site of a search operation by the police under the command of top authorities. According to a statement released by the police, Kuldeep Singh Chahal, the Ludhiana Police Commissioner (CP), gave the order to perform the check.

Together with ACPs Sandeep Singh and Jasvinder Singh Khaira, SHOs from police Division No. 7, Tibba, Moti Nagar, Jamalpur, and Meharban, and Additional DCP (IV) Abhimanyu Rana oversaw the operation. The procedure was carried out early on March 29. This exercise included a thorough inspection of the whole prison complex. Suspicious prisoners had their things inspected and they were frisked. Six prisoners’ cell phones were found during the drive, and one was discovered left on the jail’s property.

According to the police, cell phones were found on the person of Manpreet Singh, also known as Paras; Baljinder Singh, also known as Inda; Rahul Rana; Gurjant Singh, also known as Janta; Ajaib Singh, also known as Ajay Kumar; Kuljit Singh Simmi; and an unidentified prisoner.

The authorities promised to carry out further research to determine how prisoners obtained access to telephones. If prison authorities’ collusion is revealed, they will be held accountable. The forensic lab would receive these seized phones in order to identify the people these prisoners had communication with while inside.

Notably, earlier yet, the authorities apprehended prisoners operating weapons and narcotics smuggling rings out of the facility.
