Anju responds to marriage ‘rumors’ with a Pakistani friend and tells the father not to believe them

The 34-year-old Indian mother of two who is believed to have wed her Pakistani Facebook acquaintance described the reports of the wedding as “baseless speculations” when speaking with her father on the phone.

Anju, who was born in Uttar Pradesh and now resides in Alwar, Rajasthan, went to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province at her friend Nasrulla’s request. About three years ago, the two connected on social media.

Anju’s father, Gaya Prasad Thomas, voiced his dissatisfaction during the video chat after learning of her engagement and questioned why she had left for the neighboring nation without telling her family, according to Hindustan Times.

Her father previously described her as “mentally disturbed and eccentric.” Even if she is unaffected by nature, he said that she would never become engaged in anything like this.

Anju reportedly married Nasrullah on July 25 after converting to Islam.

After Anju converted to Islam, a senior official at Moharrar City Police Station in the Upper district said that Nasrullah and Anju’s marriage was solemnized and a genuine nikah was conducted.

Another development involves Anju being said to have received presents from Mohsin Khan Abbasi, CEO of the Pak Star Group of Companies, including a plot of land and 50,000 Pakistani rupees.

According to Abbasi, he wants to make sure Anju has no problems and feels at home in Pakistan. Making Pakistan seem like home for her is crucial, he said, adding that she should feel appreciated after leaving her family and home in India.

Anju has converted to Islam and changed her name to Fatima.

Responses to the allegedly married couple

Anju’s spouse Arvind Kumar informed her that she couldn’t be married in Pakistan since they hadn’t yet finalized their divorce.

She said that she filed for divorce in Delhi three years ago, but he claimed that no such notification had yet come to him. In legal documents, she is still my wife. She is unable to wed anybody else. Arvind Kumar remarked that the issue should be probed by the government.

In addition to this, the stories of the marriage have stirred up trouble in the area where she was raised. They claim that her activities will ruin the village’s and the country’s image. According to HT, they have also forbidden her from going back to the area.
