Anurag Thakur: In ten years, the nation saw “vikas se virasat.”

On the occasion of Ram Navami, Union Minister Anurag Thakur offered prayers at the Mata Chintpurni temple today. Accompanying him was Balbir Chaudhary, the former MLA of Chintpurni and head of the district BJP.

Later, speaking to reporters, Anurag said that over the previous ten years of the Narendra Modi administration at the national level, the nation has experienced “vikas se virasat.” According to the Union Minister, the government protected and promoted rich, old culture in addition to ensuring growth.

According to Anurag, religious tourism has seen a sharp increase in the last several years, drawing millions of visitors to old sites. He said that a lot of devotees have been drawn to Himachal Pradesh’s well-known holy sites, including Mata Chintpurni, Jwalaji, Naina Devi, Mata Barjeshwari Devi, and Baba Balak Nath. He also mentioned how tourism gave the people jobs.

Speaking about the steps the Narendra Modi administration took to empower women, the Union Minister said that the Nari Shakti Vandan Bill, which gives women 33% of the seats in the Lok Sabha and their respective state assemblies, was approved by the government. In addition, he added that the BJP has given women 50% reservation within its own party structure.

According to Anurag, over 10 crore free LPG connections have been given to impoverished homes over the last ten years so that ladies won’t have to breathe in smoke while cooking. In order to offer women with the convenience of not having to walk outside to relieve themselves, the government funded the construction of 12 crore “Ijjat ghars,” or public restrooms.

According to Anurag, the Jal Jeevan Mission offered free water connections to 13 crore homes, removing the need for women to go great distances to obtain water. Additionally, 4 crore dwellings were built for economically disadvantaged families, of which 3 crore were registered in the names of women. He added that eight crore households had received “ilaaj aur anaaj,” or food and medical care, from the government, and that other welfare programs had been started for pregnant mothers.
