The whole Tesla charging network staff is let go by Elon Musk

In a fresh wave of layoffs, Elon Musk dissolved Tesla’s charging team, a decision that was “surprising to everyone” and unanticipated.

Tesla’s Supercharger network has laid off workers while welcoming leading manufacturers like Ford and General Motors via its connections.

Major manufacturers are adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connection technology, which is included in Tesla’s Supercharger network.

The CEO of Tesla instructed top staff members to either leave or lay off further workers who “don’t obviously pass the excellent, necessary and trustworthy test” in an email.

One of the impacted charging staffers, Will Jameson, wrote on X that he had let “our entire charging org go”.

“I’m not sure what this implies for NACS, the charging network, and all the exciting work we were doing in the industry as a whole. “What an incredible journey it has been,” he wrote on X.

However, according to Musk’s email, TechCrunch says that Tesla “will continue to build out some new Supercharger locations, where critical, and finish those currently under construction”.

Following the termination of over 10% of its worldwide personnel as part of a reorganization plan, Tesla announced more job layoffs.

The public policy staff at Tesla has also been dismantled by the tech mogul.
