Arrested suspects in the Nafe Singh Rathee homicide case indicate the participation of a UK-based mobster in the murder

Two people who were taken into custody from Goa on Monday in relation to the murder of INLD’s Haryana unit president, Nafe Singh Rathee, disclosed connections between the murder and a mobster located in the United Kingdom. They were communicating with the handler, who was seated overseas.
Some IP addresses used to communicate with foreigners were discovered by the authorities. After carrying out their crimes, the two gunmen left the automobile at the Rewari train station while they were seated in the rear seat.

Two people who killed Rathee have been apprehended in Goa.
Prior to this, two Goan citizens were taken into custody in relation to the murder of Nafe Singh Rathee, the president of the INLD’s Haryana section.

In a coordinated operation, the district police, the Delhi Police’s Special Cell, and the Haryana Police’s Special Task Force detained Ashish and Saurabh alias Sachin from Goa, according to police authorities on Monday.

Police in Jhajjar informed reporters that the two were receiving instructions from a handler who was situated overseas.

They were transported to Jhajjar in the afternoon after being flown from Goa to Delhi, according to police sources in the nation’s capital. The pair was taken into custody from North Goa, where they were lodging at a hotel. According to a top Delhi Police officer, on February 25, four people—Ashish, Saurabh, Nakul, and Atul—opened fire on Rathee and Kishan’s car.

The officer said that a squad from the Delhi Police’s Special Cell (Southwestern Range) was engaged in the Goa operation.

Ashish and Saurabh, who live in Nangloi, Delhi, are friends with UK-based mobster Kapil Sangwan, who claimed responsibility for Rathee’s death in an alleged social media post.

According to a Delhi government officer, Sangwan moved to the UK in 2020 and is believed to be involved in almost twenty instances, including extortion, murder, and attempted murder.

According to Sangwan’s alleged social media post, Rathee befriended Manjeet Mahal, his adversary.

According to sources, Sangwan had given the four gunmen their weapons and ammo. They added that on Saturday, Nakul and Atul had departed from the Goa hotel.

Another Delhi Police officer said that Jyoti Prakash, also known as Baba, is the older brother of Sangwan and is being held in the Tihar prison on a murder charge. The Haryana Police may question him in the next few days.

According to Jhajjar Superintendent of Police Arpit Jain, Saurabh and Ashish are both facing criminal charges.

They were taken into custody in Goa. After appearing in court with us, they were placed on an eight-day police remand. The automobile that the four suspects utilized in the murder was previously found close to the Rewari train station, according to Jain.

Investigating factors are being considered, Jain told reporters in Jhajjar. The other two are being sought, he said.

In answer to a query, the officer said, “We have evidence of foreign IPs, and from technical evidence, it has come to the fore that a foreign-based handler was directing them.”

According to the police, the accused’s first questioning revealed that they were utilizing cash payments while evading capture. They said that the two traveled by rail from Rewari to Ahmedabad and then by cab from Mumbai to Goa.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, opposition parties in BJP-ruled Haryana reacted sharply to the assault on the INLD leader. Former BJP MLA Naresh Kaushik and others were mentioned by Jhajjar police in the FIR that was filed after the event.

The complaint was filed under the Arms Act and other sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 302 (murder).

Rakesh, Rathee’s nephew, had told police that five unidentified assassins, who were pursuing them in a vehicle, had emerged and opened fire randomly close to the Barahi railway crossing.

Anil Vij, the home minister for Haryana, recently said in the state parliament that the Central Bureau of Investigation would handle the investigation into the deaths.

Despite a threat to Rathee’s life, senior INLD politician Abhay Singh Chautala has said that the BJP-JJP administration in Haryana has neglected to provide protection for him.
