“Arvind Kejriwal, who previously spoke out against alcohol, is now…,” said Anna Hazare

Social activist Anna Hazare expressed his “great upset” on Friday, stating that Arvind Kejriwal, who once collaborated with him to oppose alcohol, is now “making liquor policies” himself. Hazare also said in a video that the arrest of the AAP leader and chief minister of Delhi was “because of his own deeds.”.

“I find it quite upsetting that Arvind Kejriwal, who I used to work with, is now in charge of liquor policy. Hazare said in the video, “His arrest is the result of his own actions.”

The social crusader went on to say that after taking office as chief minister of Delhi, Kejriwal created the alcohol policy and refused to “listen to him” in spite of Hazare’s two letters to him.

“He was just taken into custody…I’ve always claimed to prioritize the wellbeing of the nation. This was not considered by Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia. The government and legal system will uphold morality. I’m not going to advise them right now.Regarding Kejriwal’s situation, I’m not depressed,” said Anna Hazare.

Along with Arvind Kejriwal, Hazare led the Lokpal campaign in the early 2010s. He said that he believed Kejriwal would “earn more money” if he passed the booze legislation.

The Enforcement Directorate detained Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday night after a search and interrogation by the federal agency at his home. After spending the night in emergency department detention, he appeared in Delhi Rouse Avenue Court on Friday.
