BJP candidate connects with voters in Kosli

During his election campaign on Thursday, BJP candidate from Rohtak and outgoing MP Dr. Arvind Sharma attempted to connect with the people of Kosli town in the Rewari district by claiming that Kosli was the home of martyrs and Army troops. He also urged the creation of the Ahir regiment in the Lok Sabha.

He also brought up the AIIMS project, the foundation stone of which was set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Majra-Bhalkhi villages (Rewari) in February, in an attempt to win over voters.

Sharma addressed voters at Malayaki, Jiwda, Gurawara, Gadla, Kahnaura, Kanheri, Ushmapur, Bhairampur, Baans, Surkhpur, Pahrajwas, and Chang village during his election campaign. This encounter was significant to the BJP’s win in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Kosli, which is mostly home to the Ahir people, has 138 settlements and 2,46,432 voters overall. Sharma defeated Congress candidate Deepender Hooda by 74,980 votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Hooda will probably face up against the Congress in Rohtak once again.

Speaking in public, Sharma accused Deepender of disseminating false information against him in order to further his political career. He also criticised the former Bhupinder Hooda-led Congress administration, claiming that the ‘parchi-kharchi’ system was in place at the time. He said, “The BJP government eliminated this system and offered jobs based on merit.”

Invoking the PM’s name, Sharma asked for the votes, claiming that Modi has made a number of historic choices, such as building the Ram Temple, repealing Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, granting women 33% of the seats in the Lok Sabha and Assemblies, and doing away with triple talaq.

In a jab at the opposition, Sharma said that since the parties did not have a compelling topic, they were attempting to deceive the public by spreading false information.
