Case of youth murder solved, three held in Jalandhar

With the arrest of three people, the police claimed to have solved the murder case of a 26-year-old youngster that occurred in Basti Sheikh on Sunday night. The people that were taken into custody are Kulwinder Kaur, Jaskaran Singh Malli, and Daljit Singh, also known as Sonu.

Family members of the dead, Ankit Jumba, disagree, arguing that the wife of the “main suspect,” Karan Malli, should be arrested since they believe she was involved in the killing.

This evening, the family members demonstrated in front of Division No. 5 police station, claiming that the police had been too soft on Malli’s wife. They claimed that she attacked Ankit’s wife, resulting in a miscarriage, in addition to being present throughout the attack. They said that even after providing the police with proof, such as recordings and medical records, they are still unaware of her position in the FIR or the status of her detention.

Family members protested for two hours, demanding justice for Ankit and his unborn child and the arrest of all those guilty.

When ACP-2 (West) Kulbhushan arrived on the scene, he gave the demonstrators assurances about continuing investigations and following the law.

During an afternoon news conference, police said that Ankit Jamba’s brother Mony Jamba’s complaint prompted the start of the inquiry. Mony described to them how Ankit had gone to Jalandhar’s Bhargo Camp with his wife, Manisha, in order to get medication. As they got closer to Malli’s home in Mohalla Chai Aam, they came across a party that included numerous unknown people, Daljit Singh, also known as Sonu, Karan Malli, and his wife.

Ankit was brutally assaulted during the ensuing altercation. Ankit suffered life-threatening wounds from the armed attackers. Ankit passed away from his wounds in spite of his family sending him to the hospital right away. The police filed a complaint in reaction to the occurrence under the IPC’s Sections 302, 341, 324, 506, 148, and 149.

The course of the inquiry revealed a long-standing hatred between the accused and Ankit’s family. Ankit Jamba and his family were the subject of a lawsuit on April 23, 2021; they had just been let out of prison.

ADCP-2 Aditya attested to the fact that the investigation had advanced significantly and resulted in the apprehension of three people. He gave his word that all attempts were being made to apprehend the other parties involved in the case.

Aditya said that the FIR included Karan Malli’s wife’s name in relation to the victim’s family’s complaint, suggesting that she may have been involved. But he emphasized how important it was to prove her involvement in the crime by carefully examining the facts and the available evidence.
