Congress Reacts When Assam Chief Minister Himanta Sarma Refers to Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi as “Amul Babies”

Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have been dubbed “Amul babies” by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who further said that people would prefer to visit Kaziranga National Park than meet them.

“Why would the Assamese people go to visit the ‘Amul infants’ of the Gandhi family? Upon closer inspection, they seem fitting for Amul’s marketing effort. People would like to visit Kaziranga to see the tigers and rhinos, according to Sarma.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari responded to the BJP leader’s speech by saying Sarma shouldn’t make remarks that diminish the dignity of the chief minister’s position.

“He keeps saying these things because the BJP does not trust him, which is why he quit the Congress to join them. He ought not to make such claims,” he said.

On April 19, elections are scheduled in five Assamese Lok Sabha constituencies: Jorhat, Kaziranga, Dibrugarh, Sonitpur, and Lakhimpur.
