Congress should be among PM Modi’s main concerns during the Meerut rally

The Congress claimed on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to address these important concerns when he speaks at an electoral rally in Meerut today. The Congress accused Modi of being mute on important matters, including women’s empowerment, the MSP for crops, and paper leaks.

The Prime Minister is now in Meerut. He has so far been silent on these important matters in order to avoid having to reveal his true intentions. Jairam Ramesh, the general secretary of the Congress, wrote on X that the people of Uttar Pradesh are eager to finally hear from him about them today.

Ramesh said that while PM Modi enjoys praising “Nari Shakti” and women’s empowerment, he has consistently let Indian women down, even inside his own party.

The National Vice-President of the BJP Mahila Morcha resigned from the party only two weeks ago, claiming that female party employees were being “insulted” and “treated harshly.” Ramesh reported that a local politician physically attacked the President of the Mahila Morcha in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, forcing the other female leader to resort to social media to seek justice.

“In an effort to further its political agenda, the Modi Government was the first to turn on India’s female wrestlers during their fight for justice last year. Ramesh wrote, ‘Will Modi finally acknowledge his failures, and take action against the accused?'”

Ramesh said that despite the Modi Government awarding the Bharat Ratna to two farmers’ advocates from India, Chaudhary Charan Singh and M. S. Swaminathan, the PM has continually let farmers down.

Modi used to often pledge in 2014 to put the Swaminathan Committee Report into action. Since then, he has crushed efforts by Indian farmers to demonstrate for their rights and means of subsistence and placed the report in cold storage. The Congress Party has promised to provide MSP legal status using the methodology established by the Swaminathan Commission. Ramesh enquired, “What is the Prime Minister’s position on the same Swaminathan Commission Report that he used to tout?”

The Congress leader said that throughout the last several years, at least 43 documents related to the hiring of public servants had been leaked nationwide under the Modi administration, harming at least two crore applicants.

Ramesh stated, “These are not just numbers – these are the hopes and dreams of India’s youth that are hanging in the balance.” The test was recently canceled due to a leak of the paper, disrupting the futures of 60 lakh aspirants for the UP Police Exams. According to Ramesh, the Congress has promised to introduce strong laws under the “Yuva Nyay Guarantee” that would create institutions and best practices to stop paper leaks.

What plan does Modi have to rectify the damage done to our young people? Ramesh questioned, “What is the BJP’s “Double Engine” Sarkar doing to right its wrongs and make sure that our youth never face such injustice again?”
