Delhi Student Murder: 25-Year-Old Was Training for Government Job, According to Family; Accused A ‘Stalker’

The 23-year-old victim, Nargis, was getting ready for government positions to become financially independent, according to her family, when she was reportedly slain by her cousin for rejecting his marriage proposal.

Irfan, who is charged and is Nargis’ cousin, lived with the family for roughly five to six years in the past, according to the family. But when he reportedly started harassing Nargis, he was asked to leave.

They are first cousins since Irfan and Nargis’ moms were sisters. On Friday, the victim was struck with an iron rod and murdered at a park in Malviya Nagar, Delhi.

Police reportedly said that the murder was premeditated and that Irfan had planned it three days in advance since he was aware of the victim’s itinerary. He knew that in order to go to her stenography courses, she used to walk via the park.

The accused further said that he stole the iron rod used in the murder from his home. He asserts that he attempted to speak with the victim on Monday as well, but for some reason he was unable to do so. Police reportedly claimed they are investigating his accusations.

Suljat, Nargis’ father, claimed that she was his only child. He has two boys in addition to her. He said, “I demand justice for her. The culprits must face harsh punishment. Because of what he did, we will not pardon him.

According to Nargis’s brother Sameer, Irfan, who hails from the Auraiya region of Uttar Pradesh, proposed to her six months ago. She allegedly declined to wed him, however, since he was a temporary food delivery worker. He was dissatisfied and believed that it would be difficult to locate a spouse.

He tried to contact Nargis by following her after she stopped returning his calls.

He was aware that Nargis often attended steno coaching sessions. He pursued her for many days before killing her on Friday at a park,” alleged Sameer.

He said that his sister was a talented student who graduated with honors in Hindi and was preparing for tests for government jobs.

The accused had received technical training, Sameer said, from his father. “My sister protested to my father when he began to mistreat her, and he reprimanded him and sent him back to his own country. About a year and a half ago, he returned to Auraiya and began doing his own job,” the speaker stated.

Irfan, however, had little success with his venture and went back to Delhi. He moved into the Sangam Vihar neighborhood. According to his neighbor Ashfaq, Irfan purportedly prepared for an army post last year but was unable to meet the requirements. The defendant then began working for a food delivery service.

Around midday, police learned that a man had struck a lady in the head with an iron rod at the Vijay Mandal Park in the Shivalik A-block of Malviya Nagar in south Delhi before fleeing the scene. An iron rod, according to the police, was discovered nearby beneath a seat.

Irfan reportedly turned himself in to the police hours after the crime was committed.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, also denounced this incident and criticized the city’s law and order situation. He encouraged the Lieutenant Governor and the Home Minister to take tough measures.
