“Don’t Give Up”: Prime Minister Modi lashes out at Rahul-Vijayan feud, saying Congress has already conceded defeat in the Lok Sabha elections

Following the conclusion of the first round of the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that the India bloc’s allies are occupied with battling one another and that the opposition Congress has already conceded defeat. In addition, he counseled opposing parties to put in a lot of effort for democracy, even if they may not win.

At a rally in Nanded, Maharashtra, Prime Minister Modi remarked, “To all the workers and leaders of other parties, even if you feel that you are going to lose the elections, why should you work hard? I want to say work hard for democracy.”

He added that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conducted a booth-level investigation after the first round of voting and discovered that a large number of individuals had cast ballots in favor of the party.

“The first round of polling ended yesterday. Following the election process, PM Modi said, “The analysis conducted at the booth level and the information obtained verify that there was biased voting for the NDA during the first round of the vote.

Along with PM Modi, Eknath Shinde, the chief minister of Maharashtra, was present at the Nanded event. There will be five phases to the elections for Maharashtra’s 48 Lok Sabha seats. Out of the 25 seats the BJP and the United Shiv Sena contested in 2019, 23 were won.

Along with taking jabs at the Congress, the prime minister said that the party had already conceded defeat. He said that certain Congressmen are trying to hold onto power by using the “Rajya Sabha route.”

“The fact is that, even before the polls were announced, Congress leaders had essentially conceded defeat. He said, “This is the exact reason why some of its leaders, who previously ran for and were elected to Lok Sabha seats, have this time entered via the Rajya Sabha path.

He also drew attention to the fractures within the India bloc for the audience assembled at the gathering. He was alluding to the taunts that Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had exchanged earlier this week with Congressman Rahul Gandhi.

“The members of the coalition are disparaging one another. Even I could never say the things the Kerala Chief Minister stated about Shehzada. He told his partner this:. This is their situation, Prime Minister Modi said, addressing Rahul Gandhi as “shehzada,” an Urdu term from Persian that translates to “prince.”

“Rahul Gandhi…you have an old name,” Vijayan said on Friday during a sizable electoral rally in Kozhikode. There shouldn’t be a circumstance where you haven’t moved on from it yet.

It seems that Vijayan was alluding to the comments made ten years ago by Marxist veteran and former Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan, in which he called Gandhi an “Amul Baby.”

By June 4, the partners in the India bloc, according to PM Modi, would “tear each other’s hair out.” Rahul Gandhi would have to “run away from Wayanad” in the same manner as he did from Amethi, he said.

“Shehzada of Congress is clearly experiencing a problem in Wayanad. Shehzada and his group are awaiting the conclusion of the Wayanad polling on April 26. They will once again declare a safe seat for him after the Wayanad poll results, as their coalition partners are berating one another. Prime Minister Modi said, “He will flee Wayanad in the same manner that he did from Amethi.”
