ED: Diabetic Arvind Kejriwal is consuming sweets and mangoes to support his bail request

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, was charged on Thursday by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for eating sweets and mangoes despite having diabetes. According to the report, the AAP leader was manipulating his blood sugar levels in order to establish a case for bail.

The judge let Kejriwal to have home-cooked meals. He had filed a request with the Special Court to be able to communicate virtually with his physician three times a week in order to have his blood sugar and other vitals checked. After the ED told the court that Kejriwal had been purposefully consuming a lot of “unsuitable” food to raise his blood sugar levels, the plea was dropped.

Vivek Jain, Kejriwal’s attorney, disputed the ED’s assertions, charging that it was making remarks intended for public consumption. After then, Kejriwal withdrew the application, planning to file an amended one.

Kejriwal’s application was rejected by Special Public Prosecutor Zoheb Hossain, who said that Kejriwal’s eating habits were intended to use his blood sugar swings as a justification for requesting release.
