Epsilon Group and MG Motor India Collaborate on EV Charging and Battery Recycling

To strengthen their position in the EV charging market, MG Motor India and the Epsilon Group have formed a strategic alliance. It is anticipated that as India’s infrastructure for electric vehicles improves, the country’s rate of EV adoption would rise. MG Motor India and two Epsilon Group businesses, Power EV and LICO, have officially joined forces by signing a memorandum of understanding pertaining to charging solutions, battery recycling, and second-life knowledge.

Power EV and MG Motor India have teamed together to provide customized charging solutions for their electric cars. The partnership will provide 22kW to 120kW AC and DC chargers that are controlled by Power Panel Management Software.

This collaboration is a part of MG Motor India’s ‘MG Charge’ campaign, which intends to install 1,000 charging stations in residential areas over a period of 1,000 days.

LICO will help MG Motor India with end-of-life battery recycling in order to advance the circular economy by recovering necessary elements including lithium, cobalt, manganese, and nickel. The two businesses will work together on R&D to improve the effectiveness of battery second-life applications and the recycling process.

“MG Motor India has consistently advocated sustainability ever since it started operations in India, and has driven the development of a robust EV ecosystem in India,” stated Gaurav Gupta, Chief Growth Officer, in response to the cooperation.

By providing second-life and end-of-life battery solutions, our partnership with the Epsilon Group represents a strategic alliance with the goal of achieving this vision via an effective charging infrastructure that supports and enhances a circular economy. According to the brand, MG Motor India is focusing on expanding the EV ecosystem and the product portfolio.

By pooling our resources and knowledge, we are striving for a greener future and paving the path for an efficient, rapid adoption of EVs.” More than 15,000 charging stations have been deployed nationwide by the company. With MG Charge, the brand has installed 500 charging stations in 500 days and plans to add 1000 charging stations shortly.
