Farooq Abdullah of NC says he would contest the LS elections alone and will leave the INDIA bloc next

Farooq Abdullah, the leader of the National Conference, said on Thursday that his party would run for the Lok Sabha elections on its alone, dealing a serious blow to the INDIA bloc of opposition parties.

He told reporters, “We made a lot of effort to form an alliance, but we were unable to do so, so we will run for office on our own.”

Abdullah is the third leader of a regional party to leave the alliance. He was one of the main designers of the INDIA bloc. Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, and Bhagwant Mann, the chief minister of Punjab, have already voiced their concerns about seat sharing in the next general election.

Omar Abdullah, vice president of the National Conference (NC), said recently that discussions on splitting the three Lok Sabha seats representing the Kashmir valley, which his party held, would not take place. He had said that talks might take place on the two seats in Jammu and the one seat in Ladakh.

In response to inquiries, Farooq said that it was anticipated that Jammu and Kashmir will host both the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections at the same time.

Regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to abolish the electoral bonds plan, he said, “We hope parties agree to this and come out with the details.” The source of the money should be disclosed to the public. I hope it’s announced before of the elections.

He said, “A stable Pakistan is important for India,” in reference to the unstable political situation in that country.
