Following Pankaja’s Pritam proposal, Shinde announces that Sena would run for Nashik

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar/Nashik: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Thursday that the Shiv Sena is the sole party with a seat in the Nashik Lok Sabha.

The CM, who also leads the Shiv Sena after the party split, made the assertion a day after Pankaja Munde, the BJP’s Beed candidate, commented on Mahayuti’s Nashik candidacy problem by putting her sister Pritam Munde’s name forward.

Even NCP minister Chhagan Bhujbal, who had just withdrew from the Nashik electoral contest, was infuriated by Pankaja Munde’s remark. Bhujbal referred to Pankaja’s comments as “childish,” claiming that the Mahayuti already had enough capable politicians in Nashik and didn’t need a candidate from outside the area.

In a public speech on Wednesday night, Pankaja Munde declared that her sister, the departing Beed MP Pritam, will not face any unfair treatment. According to Pankaja, Pritam Tai would run for the Nashik Lok Sabha seat if necessary.

Many Sena members were offended by her remark because some in the party are angry over the BJP’s influence over the selection and denial of tickets for Sena candidates across the state.
