Found deceased at 65, relatives suspects murder

At his residence in Yamunanagar district’s Kharwan hamlet, a 65-year-old man was discovered dead. Dispersed over the area were the personal belongings of the deceased, identified as Chhotu Masih.

His relatives believe that Chhotu was murdered for robbery by unidentified individuals. Following a complaint from Kharwan village’s Chandra Bhan, a case was filed at the Sadar police station in Jagadhri today under Section 460 of the IPC, which punishes “all persons jointly concerned in lurking, house-trespassing, or house-breaking at night, punishable where death or grievous hurt caused by one of them.”

The complainant said that his older brother Chhotu Masih was living alone at his home since he had no children and his wife had passed away some years before.

He said that his source of income was driving an autorickshaw.

He said that his brother used to visit his home every morning for tea and breakfast.

He also said that he went to his residence to see how he was doing after he didn’t show up on Friday morning.

The complainant informed the police, “My brother was lying there dead, and household articles were lying scattered.” He said that unidentified individuals murdered his brother in order to carry out a robbery. Once the post-mortem was completed, the corpse was given to the relatives.
