Gangster Raju Shooter flees the hospital in Tarn Taran, and people are searching for him

Gangster Charanjit Singh, also known as Raju Shooter, is a native of Sangha. On the intervening nights of Wednesday and Thursday, he and his armed accomplices escaped from police custody here.

The officials of the Central Jail, Goindwal Sahib, had taken Raju Shooter to the nearby Civil Hospital for the last three days in order to remove a rod that had been inserted into his leg.

According to Sushil Kumar, the City’s SHO, two unidentified Gulab Singhs and Raju Shooter’s other accomplices arrived at the Civil hospital on two motorbikes and went inside room No. 5, which is located on the third floor, where Raju was hospitalized. One of the three security guards assigned to Raju, Gursher Singh, was threatened at gunpoint, while the other guards were imprisoned by the criminals in the restroom. Raju Shooter’s armed companions stole the handcuff keys from Gursher Singh and rode off on the two motorbikes with Raju.

A year ago, Raju Shooter was engaged in a heist at the Dhotian SBI bank branch in addition to twelve other criminal activities.

Two months ago, following an interaction with local CIA personnel, he was taken into custody and placed in the Goindwal Sahib Central Jail.

According to DSP Tarsem Masih, one of the three Raju Shooter associates has been identified as Gulab Singh from the same Sangha village; the identities of the other two are still pending. The local city police have booked the accused under Sections 224, 341 and 506 of the IPC read in conjunction with Sections 25 and 54 of the Arms Act.
