Ghaziabad: An unidentified four-foot trench next to the Hindan Air Force Base perimeter wall was discovered; investigation

Yesterday, a four-foot-deep hole was discovered under the Ghaziabad border wall of the Hindan Air facility. This discovery raises grave security worries about a possible tunnel-digging effort at the strategically significant Air Force facility, which is around 10 km from Delhi.

Locals living close to the Hindan air base notified the police, who then arrived at the location. A sizable throng gathered in the area to see the hole that had sparked concerns. When an Indian Air Force crew gets to the location, mud is being poured into the hole.

One of the biggest air bases in Asia, Hindan Air Base is under the control of the Indian Air Force’s Western Air Command. The air base that guards the skies above Delhi and its surroundings is home to the Indian Air Force’s C-17 cargo planes.

The strong border wall, which is at least twenty feet tall, was broken at its base before the pit was excavated, as shown by photos of the site. There is an open area next to the border wall where people live not far from the Hindan air base. There is a substantial residential complex all around the Hindan Air Base.

A citizen who lives near the Hindan Air Base, Anil Kumar, stated: “There have been a lot of robbery instances recorded in the previous few days. After a robbery occurred at my home on December 7, while I was in Muzaffarnagar for a wedding, the whole community convened a conference to discuss the situation. We were informed by someone going by the name of Gopal that the air base had a pit under its perimeter wall. Along with other individuals, my brother and I went to the location and called the police.”

“A police squad was sent to the scene right once after information, and they examined the area with air force authorities. Strict action will be taken against the guilty parties; a case has been filed,” the Deputy Superintendent of Police for the Trans Hindan Zone said.

The neighborhood has allegedly seen many robbery and kidnapping cases, according to the locals. “Drug addicts and some anti-social elements are responsible for such incidents,” according to a local.

The Indian Air Force has not yet addressed the matter. A squad from the IAF has filled the hole with mud in the meantime. A police report has been filed. Forward offensive activities have been carried out out of the air base. MiG-29 fighter planes were stationed at the air base to guard the skies over the nation’s capital on 26/11, the day of the Mumbai attacks.
