Goa Lok Sabha Election 2024: Is the Congress Able to Stake a Claim Against the BJP in North Goa?

Election to the Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha, North Goa Constituency, 2024: One of Goa’s two Lok Sabha parliamentary constituencies is North Goa. Goa is scheduled to hold a single phase of voting for its two Lok Sabha seats on May 7. North Goa and South Goa are the two Lok Sabha seats for the coastal state.
Since 1962, the BJP has only twice prevailed in the South Goa constituency.

In the general elections of 2019, Congress candidate Cosme Francisco Caitano Sardinha won the seat in South Goa, while BJP candidate Shripad Yesso Naik got the seat in North Goa. The 2024 Lok Sabha elections will include seven stages of voting, with the first phase beginning on April 19 and concluding on June 1. On June 4, the results will be announced.

With 244,844 votes, BJP candidate Shripad Yesso Naik won the general elections of 2019. Girish Chodankar of the INC came in second with 1,64,597 votes.
