‘Feeling neglected’: Shibu Soren’s daughter-in-law and JMM MLA Sita quits party to join BJP

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was dealt yet another blow on Tuesday when Shibu Soren’s eldest daughter-in-law and MLA for the Jama Assembly seat resigned from the party’s main membership. She said the party was isolating her and hatched a plot against her and her family.

A few hours later, she became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the national capital’s party headquarters, where she was greeted by Vinod Tawde, the party’s national general secretary, and Laxmikant Bajpai, the election in-charge for Jharkhand.

After Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was announced as the party’s new face, Sita Soren became disillusioned with the organization.

After the Champai Soren administration was formed, the situation worsened when her name was removed from the list of cabinet ministers.

Sita, the party’s Central General Secretary, is the older daughter-in-law of JMM supremo Shibu Soren and the late Durga Soren, the head of the JMM.

I’ve learned that my family members and I are the targets of a complex plot. In a letter of resignation to JMM Chief Shibu Soren, Sita Soren said, “I am resigning from my primary membership in the party, saddened by recent developments in the party that isolated me and my children.”

Letter from Sita Soren
On Tuesday, Sita Soren, the daughter-in-law of JMM founder Shibu Soren, became a member of the BJP in the party’s New Delhi headquarters.
With tears and anger, Kalpana Soren joins the election fight and declares, “Jharkhand will never bow down.”
Sita went on, “My family and I are being disregarded on a daily basis after the passing of my late husband, Durga Soren, who was a great revolutionary and a key fighter in the Jharkhand campaign. Additionally, the party and family members have ostracized us, which has hurt me deeply.

Sita Soren said that although she was fairly optimistic that things would get better over time, it did not turn out to be the case.

“Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, a fantastic celebration that my late husband created with tremendous personal sacrifice, devotion, and leadership expense, changed. She said, “I am disappointed by the state of the party, which has now been given over to individuals whose goals and vision do not align with our principles and beliefs.

“I have made the decision to split from this family and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha. Thus, in a letter to Shibu Soren, Sita said, “I am resigning from my primary membership of the party and request that you accept my resignation.”
