Gold Hidden in Passenger’s Rectum Worth ₹70 Lakh Found at Trichy Airport

Tiruchirappalli: On April 27, a traveler coming from Dubai was found to be carrying 997 grams of 24K gold by Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) officials. The gold had a 70.58 lakh rupee value.

The authorities said that the gold had been hidden in the passenger’s rectum in three packages totaling 1081 grams of paste-like substance.

The customer was taking the Air India Express from Dubai to Trichy. The passenger has been taken into custody, and the situation is now being looked into further.

AIU agents at Tiruchirappalli airport apprehended 410 grams of gold worth Rs. 26.62 lakh from a traveler who had landed from Singapore in March of this year. As per the authorities, the confiscated gold included 330 grams of 24 carat gold that was extracted from a paste-like substance and 80 kilos of 22 carat gold that was hidden within the vest of a passenger who was traveling from Singapore to Trichy.
