“Golden chapter”: PM Modi said the UAE mandir has increased Ayodhya’s happiness

NEW DELHI: “A magnificent chapter in human history has been written by the UAE. The first-ever temple in Abu Dhabi is being built thanks to the ruler of the Emirate’s efforts to promote inclusion and accommodate diversity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “A beautiful and divine temple is being inaugurated here.”

Recalling the interest expressed by President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates in enabling the building of the largest Hindu temple in West Asia, the BAPS (Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha) temple, Modi said the shrine’s inauguration has increased the happiness surrounding the consecration of the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya on January 22.

“Right from the day in 2015 when in our first meeting, I mentioned the desire of people to have a temple here, he cooperated all along-from allotting as much as land as was needed to fulfil the aspirations of crores of Indians,” the Prime Minister remarked of the president of the UAE.
The Prime Minister highlighted the steady improvement in bilateral relations since Modi’s election as well as his personal relationship with the ruler of the United Arab Emirates by saying, “If there is anyone who has the biggest and most significant role in making this grand temple a reality, then it is none other than my brother His Highness Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed.”
Modi connected the temple’s building to Zayed’s increased tolerance of non-Islamic religions in the United Arab Emirates. “He has been instrumental in the construction of a centre where a mosque and a church exist by a synagogue.”
“I hope that the BAPS mandir will become a symbol of communal harmony and global unity for the whole world,” the prime minister said.
