Hyderabad: Owaisi criticizes the BJP candidate for provoking controversy with his “arrow towards mosque” motion

A significant issue started when a video of Kompella Madhavi Latha, the BJP candidate for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat, appeared on social media and seemed to be pointing toward a mosque with an arrow. The incident happened while traveling in an open vehicle that was organized by BJP MLA T Raja Singh during a Ram Navmi parade near Siddiamber Bazaar Junction in ancient Hyderabad.

The mosque was covered in white linen throughout the celebrations to ease tensions between the communities. Latha addressed the topic on X, attempting to provide clarification on a video that had gone viral in the media. Latha had been chosen by the BJP to fight AIMIM chairman Asaduddin Owaisi from the seat.

I’ve discovered that one of my videos is being used negatively by the media, as per my notification. I want to make it clear that the video is unfinished, and even if it causes someone to feel offended, I want to apologize since I value every person,” she stated.

Asaduddin Owaisi, a member of parliament representing Hyderabad, criticized Latha’s gesture, calling it offensive, disagreeable, and vulgar. He also urged voters to support Hyderabad’s peace and development. “The people of Hyderabad were aware of the BJP’s goals. The impolite and offensive conduct of the BJP-RSS would not be tolerated,” he said.

Is this what the BJP refers to as “Viksit Bharat”? Hyderabad has a calmer atmosphere than before elections. Owaisi said, “I am sure that Telangana voters would reject the BJP since they oppose peace in the state.

He also questioned the failure to take suo motu action against her by the Election Commission, the Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, the District Election Officer, and the Chief Electoral Officer.

According to an AIMIM representative, they want to bring up the issue with the Indian Election Commission and lodge a police case against Latha. The Election Commission spokeswoman did not, however, address whether or not any complaints had been filed or what had been done about the occurrence.

Latha, 49, describes herself as a Bharatanatyam dancer with training, a businesswoman, a “typical traditional Indian woman,” and a “daughter of RSS.” She was a political novice, but she rose to prominence when the BJP chose her to run against Owaisi, whose party had controlled the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat since 1984. The Prime Minister had earlier commended her for her performance on a television show.
